The Misamis Oriental-Cagayan de Oro Chapter of the Philippine Red Cross gave Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan its Top Award in their 21stBiennial Convention.
The university was given this honor for being the best partner institution of Red Cross in their efforts to extend various humanitarian services. The awarding was held at Pearlmont Inn during the Pledging Session and Testimonial Dinner held by the organization.
Among the various engagements of the Red Cross here in Misamis Oriental are the trainings on first aid medication, services to calamity-stricken communities, and presently, the information dissemination campaign for the prevention of dengue and actual destruction of mosquito breeding sites.
In the campus, the Xavier University Red Cross Youth under the Red Cross Youth Department is actively engaging in drives for blood donation and holding trainings on first aid medication.
