Despite torrential rains that flooded many of the city’s streets Friday night, October 8, the Xavier Maria Reyna University Hospital (XMRUH) pushed through with the groundbreaking of the new XMRUH Emergency/Operating Room complex.

The construction of a two-storey extension building will enable XMRUH to upgrade its basic services and provide advanced medical services to marginalized patients. It will also serve to improve medical practice and clinical instruction.

As a Catholic hospital, XMRUH commits to provide patients with affordable, quality and holistic medical care.

XMRUH, formerly Maria Reyna Hospital, is a partnership between the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro, the Sisters of St Paul de Chartres and Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan. It will be the base hospital of Xavier’s School of Medicine, and College of Nursing.
