Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan and the Asian Carmakers Corporation officially announced the construction of the Jose Ch Alvarez (JCA) Technology Complex,  the new home of Xavier University-Center for Integrated Technologies (XU-CIT), during a ceremoinial groundbreaking on October 13, 2010.
 
The JCA Technology Complex will be built on a 2.3 hectare lot inside the Manresa Campus, fronting Pueblo de Oro’s IT Business Park near Concentrix. The proposed XU-CIT facilities will span a potential gross floor area of 3,780 square meters excluding sports amenities. It will house classrooms, laboratories and workshops, a canteen, a library, an auditorium, as well as administration offices, and other utilities and services.
 
The building concept incorporates green architecture and environment design to provide a more stimulating teaching and learning environment for the students and employees. Green designs concern building management, materials and building performance, energy and resource consumption, and innovation for environmental sensitivity. The eco-friendly design concept of the JCA Technology Complex demonstrates Xavier University’s commitment to a sustainable environment, and the health and safety of its stakeholders.
