Two graduates of the Xavier University (XU) College of Nursing landed in the top 10 in the recent Philippine Nursing Licensure Exam given last December 2010. XU also garnered a 98.48% passing rate making it the second-best performing school in the nation and the top performing school in Mindanao with 50 or more examinees.

Jessa Lorraine Dejan Andalan ranked 5th place with a rating of 86.20% and Micaela Orevillo De Guzman placed 10th with a score of 85.20%.

The Professional Regulation Commission announced the results on February 19. Of the 84,287 who took the test nationwide only 29,711 passed the examination pegging national average at 35.25%

Xavier has consistently excelled in the licensure exam for nurses since it re-opened its Nursing program in 2002. In 2006, XU acquired a passing percentage of 100%. Since then, XU’s nursing board passing rates have not gone below 96%, and eight top ten finishers have been produced since 2006.

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful takers will be on March 14 and 15, 2011 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
