The Asian Institute of Management Center for Bridging Leadership, with the World Bank and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process, has launched a fellowship program that seeks to develop socially responsible leaders that will help promote peace development through local governance interventions and inclusive processes, particularly in conflict-affected areas of Muslim Mindanao.

The fellowship program is open to individuals who hold leadership positions and have specific initiatives or projects, specifically on peace and development in the region that will benefit from the fellowship program.  The deadline for application is May 31, 2011.

The Fellowship Program will be anchored on the Bridging Leadership framework developed at AIM. For 15 months, the Fellows will work on a real-life and existing program in which they will address a specific societal issue, and will have well-defined goals to pursue. The Program will provide fellows with access to resource providers and opportunities to engage and build partners and support for the program. Fellows will undergo formal workshops and mentoring by experienced development practitioners (in the fields they have chosen) to deepen and enhance their personal and professional competence to meet leadership goals.

The Program of the first cohort of 24 Fellows will begin this June. For more information, you may contact the College of Agriculture at 858 3116 local 3100 and look for Ms Estrella Borja.
