Last 23 March 2024 at the Library of Xavier University Senior High School, the first batch of Alumni Ambassadors met with the University President Fr Mars Tan, SJ, along with other university officials, to provide valuable insights and suggestions on the ongoing developments of Xavier Ateneo.

The Alumni Ambassadors Program is an initiative of the XU Advancement Office created to provide an avenue for the Alumni to promote, provide suggestions, share their expertise, and contribute resources for the Masterson Campus. Gathered together by the Advancement Office, the small group composed of various Alumni from Grade school, High School, College and even Graduate School, came together to share ideas over lunch. Fr Mars Tan kicked off the intimate event by welcoming the Alumni and emphasizing how the work being done now is a legacy for everyone to build. Ms Lennie Ong, Program Director for Xavier Ateneo Development and University Treasurer presented the vision of Xavier Ateneo to be a leading Asean University and how the university has been working toward that goal. Ms Ong also shared the plans for the Masterson Campus which is currently under development, showcasing how the soon-to-rise campus will contribute to the community. To end the short presentation, the Advancement Director Ms Kitty Tiukinhoy shared the opportunities for partnerships and engagement for the new campus, such as naming rights, research and innovation, scholarships, and other collaboration ideas. Ms Tiukinhoy also facilitated a lively group discussion wherein the participants shared their thoughts and recommendations.

With key takeaways from participants during the event, ideas and insights on how Xavier Ateneo can provide continued excellence not only in the field of academics but also as a global contributor were discussed. Part of the presentation made by the Advancement Office was of developments all around Cagayan de Oro, with Xavier Ateneo at the forefront.

Also notable was the impromptu presentation of Engr Elpie Paras an XUGS Alumus, of his Aerial Mass Transport Project which complements the developments of Xavier Ateneo and the City as a whole.

The Alumni Ambassadors Program aims to bring together XU Alumni and capitalize on their expertise and insights to ensure a future ready Xavier Ateneo as it counts off to its Centennial Year this 2033. The luncheon was a pilot activity of the program to bring together Alumni to join in realizing the University Vision.
