Xavier Center for Culture and the Arts and The Xavier Stage will present Edward Perez’s Barracks ni Tenyente Fuego on September 21 – 27, 2011 at the Xavier University Little Theater, with matinee shows at 3:00 pm and gala shows at 7:30 pm.  

Barracks ni Tenyente Fuego is a satirical-black comedy that tackles the issue on acceptance of homosexuality in the family and its correlation to achieving career determination, respect, and dignity.  Mr Giovanni Tampus will play the lead role, and Bart Savior is directing the production.   

Tickets are sold at Php 100 (Premiere Night with cocktails), Php 50.00 (Matinee Shows) and Php 75.00 (Gala Shows).  Your support will also help us in sustaining cultural programming in Northern Mindanao.

The Xavier Stage has produced two major productions this year: Wilfrido Ma Guerrero’s Ulilang Tahanan (February 2011) and Dalawang Komedya (June 2011).  The Xavier Stage has wowed almost five thousand audiences.  The company is set to define a university theater that involves students, faculty members, administrators and staff as artists.  This year, its season is titled “The Xavier Stage @ Random” – mounting Filipino plays to promote arts and culture.
