The XU Libraries will be holding a Stakeholders' Consultative Meeting and Planning Workshop on Oct 24, 8am to 5pm at the AVR1, Main Library Building.
Prof Lourdes T David, director of Libraries at the Ateneo de Manila University, and Ms Ana Maria B Fresnido, director of Libraries at the De La Salle University, will be sharing their experience in developing the Rizal Library of ADMU and in building the future library/learning spaces at DLSU, respectively.
XU's community expert, Engr Gerardo S Doroja, dean of the College of Computer Studies and chair of the Academic Council Library Committee, will be facilitating the workshop which will focus on aligning library processess, policies & procedures, organizational & human resource development, collection development, information systems & technology services, and building infrastructure with the mission and goals of the University.

Reflecting the Dream a. Everybody will be going to the “Plant-our-dream” Area. (There should be a big hole intended to plant a tree) b. The Participants are left with a RED CARD where it contains their personal answers to the question: What MORE can we give with our university libraries? c. Prayerfully, everyone will be asked to go back the RED CARD question and individually affirm their commitment to the dreams all of the participants will be building. Called by Name a. The Facilitator invites everyone to Prayer. b. Introduction: God is an Active God · “He is ever at work in people’s lives, inviting, directing, guiding, proposing, suggesting. · This understanding of God animates Ignatian spirituality and gives it its internal cohesion: all designed to help us be more attentive to this active God. · Ignatian spirituality can be described as an active attentiveness to God joined with a prompt responsiveness to his leading. c. God Loving calls us. Our response to God occurs now. · We are not to be inhibited by our own weakness and failure. We are not to ponder our unworthiness. God is working in our lives now and we are to respond now. · God’s dream is as same as our dream all together. As a response, all of you will be called by name. As your name is being called, we invite you to drop the RED CARD in the hole. d. One by one, the Facilitator will call each name, and as expected, the person will place the RED CARD in the hole. At this point, someone should be handling his or her certificate of participation. God’s Dream a. After everyone is being called, The hole will be planted with a tree sprout (preferably a gemelina tree). The tree will represent the collective effort of building the dream. The growing tree will be a constant reminder that God has been loyal with His promises. b. With Engr. Lennie Ong, the University Treasurer, will also assist in placing the time-capsule in the hole. c. Dr. Lina Kwong will affirm the activity, shares a Prayer for everyone. Closing Words a. In a heart filled with Gratitude, the University Director of Libraries, Ms Cabudoy, expresses her gratitude and share her closing words to all.
