Fr Calvin H Poulin SJ was laid to rest on February 23 at a simple ceremony in Cagayan de Oro. The funeral mass, presided by Fr Jojo Magadia SJ, Provincial Superior, was held at the Immaculate Conception Chapel of Xavier University.  Fr Cal was buried at the Jesuit cemetery in Manresa in the presence of his closest friends, companions in the Society of Jesus, and Xavier University faculty, staff and students.

Fr Cal was well-loved by many in XU. He served as University chaplain for 13 years, from 1999-2012. He also taught Religious Studies from 2006-2008 and was the Loyola House Treasurer from 2002-2006.
 
In October 2011, Fr Cal was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He passed away on February 19 at the age of 81.
