The XU Libraries has been elected as vice president of the Academic Libraries Book Acquisition Systems Association, Inc (ALBASA), as well as vice president of the Academic Libraries Network Information in Mindanao, Inc. (ALINET) for 2012-2013. Ms Estrella Cabudoy, director of Libraries, represented XU during the election of both Boards.

ALBASA is a non-profit corporation organized by librarians to coordinate book purchases and avail of volume discounts, provide a clearinghouse for activities among members, and conduct workshops and seminars for the professional growth of librarians. It was founded in 1973 with Fr Rafael N Borromeo SJ, then director of the XU Libraries, as the organization’s first president.

ALINET is an organization of academic libraries, with 51 members to date from Northern Mindanao, Caraga, South Cotabato, ARMM and Davao. It holds activities for the improvement of library services among member libraries.
