The 8th Season of the Cagayan de Oro Schools Athletics Association (COSAA) opened on Saturday, July 21, at the XU Gym. 

XU President Fr Roberto Yap SJ gave the statement of declaration of the opening of games. He reminded the players of three things: Discipline, Teamwork and Sportsmanship. He said that these three will guide them not just in playing in their events but also in the game of life. 

He also enjoined everyone to chant, “It’s more fun in COSAA.”

The games began immediately after the opening ceremony with a basketball match between St Mary’s School and Merry Child School, and XU and Capitol University in the 12-under category, and XU versus St Mary’s School, in which XU won, and Capitol University against Merry Child School in the 14-under category.
