Mrs Fatima Linog Paepke, who retired from Xavier University in September 2012 as principal of Grade School, died Wednesday, 28 November, at her home after several months of serious illness.
Fondly called "Timay," Paepke started her career with XU after graduating BSEE from the University in 1970. She taught in the Grade School for 10 years until 1980, then again in 1994. She was the Grade Level Coordinator from 1995 to 1999 and, subsequently, the GS Academic Coordinator from 1999 to 2007. She was OIC GS Principal in 2000 before she was appointed GS Principal in 2007 until her retirement. She had faithfully served XU for 28 years.
“As principal, she managed a growing GS population in two campuses. Her way of fostering the loyalty and commitment of the GS faculty and staff in sharing the XU mission of forming persons-for-others was most admirable. Her cura personalis for our Grade Schoolers was equally commendable,” said XU President Roberto Yap SJ in his memo to the XU community.
Paepke is waked at Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes, Capistrano Street. Interment will be on Monday, 3 December, after a morning mass at Oro Gardens, Masterson Avenue.
