Students of the College of Agriculture will have an opportunity to study at the University of Hawaii at Hilo (UHH) beginning next school year through the Student Study Abroad –Limited Exchange Program.

The partnership, facilitated by the Office of International Cooperation and Networking, was finalized in September with the signing of the memorandum of agreement by XU President Roberto Yap SJ and UHH President Donald Stranley.

It aims to strengthen and expand mutual contacts between the universities, and enable cooperation and exchange between students, specifically in the field of agriculture. Selected students will have the privilege of studying at UHH while paying XU tuition rates.

Students who wish to apply should have a minimum QPI of 3.00.  A selection committee from the College of Agriculture will screen all applicants for recommendation to UHH, which will make the final admission decision. Accepted students will take care of accommodation, transportation, health insurance and medical costs.

Reynaldo Antonio Mante, assistant dean of the College of Agriculture, said that “interested students should be able to show good academic performance, extra and co-curricular activities, and personal maturity.”

A call for application to the program will begin early next year.
