Dr Lovenia Parcon Naces, faculty member of the Religious Studies Department, College of Arts and Sciences, passed away Sunday, April 7, at the Maria Reyna Xavier University Hospital after enduring pancreatic cancer.

Dr Naces served SEARSOLIN and Xavier University beginning 1982. She will be remembered for her passionate work in promoting peace and interfaith dialogue, particularly with the Moro National Liberation Front, and in developing cooperatives as vehicles for economic upliftment. She also served as chair of the Religious Studies Department.

A Wake Mass was celebrated at  the Immaculate Conception Chapel, Xavier University on April 10. She was buried the following day at Oro Gardens after the Funeral Mass at the University Chapel.
