Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan participated in the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities in Asia Pacific (AJCU-AP) Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) Meeting held in Beijing, China on 25-27 August 2024.

XU President Fr Mars P Tan SJ and OICN Director Dr Shiella C Balbutin represented the university and took part in the discussions which included updates about various network initiatives such as the regular AJCU-AP programs, special initiatives in development, and specific Jesuit concerns such as Artificial Intelligence and mental health and well-being. The CEOs were then given updates on special projects undertaken since the 2023 meeting. The group also agreed on the steps to carry out in support of these initiatives.   

The AJCU-AP promotes collaboration and leadership among Jesuit institutions across Asia Pacific. It is composed of a highly diverse group of Jesuit institutions, with members belonging to 3 different organization types: 9 comprehensive universities, 8 specialist colleges, and 4 residence institutes.
