December is truly a month of generosity, compassion, and celebration as Xavier University continues to partner with Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc (TYF) in the conduct of the Christmas for Others Project last 13-15 December 2024.

Already on its 4th year with XU as its local partner, TYF has extended its generosity to provide noche buena packs to 500 families from select communities in Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental. The distribution of gifts was led by the Social Involvement and Advocacy Program (SIAP) in coordination with the following organizations and offices: Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro, El Gaucho Community Relations, Samdhana Institute, and Talungan Village Homeowners’ Association.

The volunteers from Xavier University were able to visit 5 communities to deliver the noche buena packs in person. A simple ceremony introducing the project and TYF was being conducted, as well as thanking the organizations involved for assisting in identifying the 500 beneficiaries for the Christmas for Others 2024 Project.
The Archdiocesan Deaf Ministry, represented by Ms Vilma Arante expressed her gratitude to the donors for bringing joy to the deaf community in Cagayan de Oro. “Thank you for the blessings that you shared para sa ilaha, especially [to] those who cannot talk. Thank you pud for bringing joy and hope to their families.”

The Christmas for Others project is a simple yet powerful reminder to share and uplift fellow Filipinos who have less, providing support to individuals and families in need, allowing them to celebrate and experience a joyful and hopeful Christmas.
