Four topnotchers from Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan were among the distinguished awardees at the recent Nursing Licensure Exam oath-taking ceremony, held at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City on 16 December 2024.
The event, organized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board of Nursing, marked the official entry of the November 2024 Nursing Licensure Examination passers into the country’s nursing profession. It was attended by notable figures, including former commissioner Hon Dr Jose Y Cueto, Jr, who delivered a speech addressing the country's declining nurse retention rates.
Among the awardees were Xavier University’s four graduates who secured spots in the Top 10, making a remarkable showing at the ceremony. Alexandra D Yamson, who ranked third with a score of 92.00%, was not only recognized for her achievement but also had the honor of delivering a speech, inspiring fellow registered nurses with her words. She was followed by Shania Jane D Custodio, who ranked seventh with a score of 91.20%. Jasimah P Gutoc and Jasmin Isabelle F Rosali shared ninth place, each earning a score of 90.80%.
The November 2024 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination recorded a national passing rate of 84.99%, with Xavier University surpassing the national average with a 100.00% institutional passing rate.
Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan’s topnotchers, along with all the newly licensed nurses, have not only achieved a significant milestone but have also set a benchmark of excellence for future graduates to follow.
