The Xavier University Scholars' Guild (XUSG) recently brought together scholars from various colleges and units for a vibrant and participatory General Assembly held at the XU Covered Courts on 10 May 2025. The gathering served as a platform for transparency, dialogue, and the reaffirmation of the guild’s commitment to student-centered leadership.

The event opened with preliminaries and a warm welcome from Mr Tyron Keith Maru V Sabal, Director of the Office of the Scholarships and Grants. In his message, he encouraged scholars to remain involved, united, and proactive in shaping the future of the guild and the broader university community.

A key highlight of the assembly was the Charter Change Announcement and Fee Discussion presented by XUSG Executive President, Mr Francis Ignatius T Rebosura. He outlined the proposed revisions to the guild’s constitution and addressed concerns regarding membership fees. This was followed by an open forum, where scholars voiced their opinions and raised questions—demonstrating the spirit of participatory governance.

Light moments followed, as games brought energy and laughter to the court. Mr Rebosura resumed to present the accomplishments of the XUSG throughout the Academic Year 2024-2025, showcasing various initiatives, activities, and milestones that reflected the guild’s ongoing dedication to scholar welfare and excellence.

The introduction of candidates for the upcoming XUSG elections followed shortly after, led by the XUSG Electoral Commission. This segment allowed scholars to familiarize themselves with the aspiring student leaders and their respective platforms. Another open forum ensued, providing space for general concerns, insights, and suggestions from the community.

To conclude the assembly, Ms Blesilda Angela S Nanaman the XUSG Moderator, delivered a heartfelt closing remarks, thanking the scholars for their active participation and continued support. A group photo opportunity sealed the moment before attendees signed out, bringing the event to a close.
