The Festival of Ideas writing competition opened last month to all levels – including the staff and faculty of Xavier University. With this, the Xavier University Press would like to remind you that the DEADLINE, which had already been extended, is approaching – 30th OF
NOVEMBER.
Winners will be announced during the celebration of the RSO month in January.
Below, once more, are the details of the competition:
Part of a larger project, Towards Creating a University-Wide Writing Culture, selected entries will be published in a literary book to be
launched in February.
The competition has four categories, namely:
Category A: High School students (English)
Category B: College, post-graduate students (English)
Category C: High School students (Tagalog & Binisaya)
Category D: College, Post-graduate students (Tagalog & Binisaya)
Category E: Faculty & Staff (English, Tagalog, & Binisaya)
For each category, first, second, and third place winners will be selected. The prizes are P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000 respectively. Five finalists would also be chosen and will each be given P500. Of these
category winners, a grand prize winner will be selected and will receive P10,000. Mentors of high school students will also be given recognition awards.
