The Road to Cinema Rehiyon 6 is a promotional road screening program sustaining the Cinema Rehiyon Caravan which started in February 2013.  The promotional road screening also fortifies the Cinema Rehiyon Reloaded concept wherein films featured in the previous Cinema Rehiyon are rescreened for a newer set of audience for appreciation and understanding.  

The Road to Cinema Rehiyon 6 also aims at tapping various academic institutions in Northern Mindanao. Films, like any other forms of art, are essential media for learning and for liberal education. The program allows students from various academic institutions to be exposed to regional films so they can be informed and inspired by the stories, voices and aspirations of people from their own locale.

Winners of CINEMAGIS – Digital Short Film Festival in Northern Mindanao, namely Crossfire by Arnel Mardoquio and Pigadagit by Maria Victoria ‘Bambi’ Beltran are among the featured films of the Road to Cinema Rehiyon 6.

The stops of the road tour include SM City Cagayan de Oro, Xavier University (Cagayan de Oro Cty) Fr Saturnino Urios University (Butuan City), Central Mindanao University (Musuan, Maramag, Bukidnon), Department of Education Region X (RELC Cagayan de Oro City), MSU- Iligan Institute of Technology (Iligan City), Bukidnon State University (Malaybalay City, Bukidnon), Capitol University and Liceo de Cagayan University (Cagayan de Oro City).

The road to Cinema Rehiyon 6 is presented by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts through its National Committee on Cinema, Xavier University, Xavier Center for Culture and the Arts, SM City Cagayan de Oro.  And our official print media partners are Business Week Mindanao, Mindanao Daily News, Business Daily, Mindanao Star and the Cagayan de Oro Times.

The program starts on January 10 until February 13.
