Two of our Basic Education researchers were recognized for their oral research presentations in the Asian Conference on Multidisciplinary Research in Higher Education held at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Pasay City from Nov 26-28.
Kerstin Gavina Fresita A Pedroza, from Xavier University Grade School, presented her paper on “Exploring the Peter Effect in Teacher Educators’ Knowledge and Ability in Reading Instruction.” Aside from getting a Platinum Award (Second Place) as Best Oral Presenter and Diamond Award (First Place) as Best in PowerPoint Presentation, she also won the Best Abstract Award for Education.
Anito R Librando Jr, English Department Chairperson from Xavier University High School, presented his paper on “Core Subjects Achievement and CSAT Performance of Senior Students: An Evaluation of a Private High School’s College Entrance Exam Review Program in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines” and also garnered a Diamond Award (First Place) as Best Oral Presenter and Gold Award (Third Place) as Best in PowerPoint Presentation.
The said conference was participated in by about 80 researchers from different countries including, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Tonga, Malaysia and the Philippines. It carried the theme, “Invention and Research that Define Our Global Sustainability.” These researchers competed with their scientific papers in concurrent sessions.
Keynote speakers of the convention include Dr Isagani Cruz, president of Manila Times College; Dr Renan Limjuco, director of research and publication center of University of the Immaculate Conception Davao City; and D. Jia-Rong Wen of Shu-Te University, Taiwan.
