A highlight of the event was the Recognition of Funders and the Honors and Service Awards for outstanding scholars. Ms Bonnie Guerra, representing the university’s benefactors, delivered a moving message, emphasizing that, “As funders, we do not expect you to give back, but to pay it forward.” She reminded the scholars of their growth and transformation over their college years, noting how XU’s formative education sets it apart from other institutions.

Adding a soulful note to the event was an intermission song number by scholar Shanerick Paul Roxas. This was followed by a powerful gratitude speech by graduating scholar Ameer Sajid M Adzis, who shared the struggles scholars face and expressed deep appreciation for the support they received throughout college.

Outgoing Scholars’ Guild President Francis Ignatius Rebosura led the recognition of the 2024 to 2025 outgoing officers and the introduction of the new set of officers for 2025 to 2026. The event also included a reflection segment where selected scholars shared what being a scholar at Xavier meant to them.

The celebration concluded with closing remarks from Mr Tyron Keith Maru Sabal of the Office of Scholarships and Grants. Scholars then enjoyed a networking session over snacks, took group photos, and participated in a touching “Leave-a-Note” activity.

The Seniors’ Tribute served as both a farewell and a celebration of transformation, highlighting the values of excellence, service, and gratitude, core to Xavier University’s scholarship community.
