The workshop focused on building research capacities in developing, validating, and using research instruments. These tools are key to generating evidence for predictive models and policy recommendations, particularly in understanding effective mentorship practices in Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs).

Faculty researchers from both Xavier University and City College actively participated in the sessions, which covered key topics such as construct development, item writing, validation processes, and pilot testing strategies. The exchange of ideas was collaborative and insightful, enriching the shared goal of improving research-based approaches in teacher education.

As the project moves forward into the next phase of tool development, the workshop marked an important milestone in fostering academic partnerships and supporting a research culture that informs better educational practices and policies.

Xavier University remains committed to this collaboration and to its mission of developing future educators through meaningful research and innovation.
