The Xavier University College of Engineering is thrilled to announce the beginning of an exciting new partnership with Century Pacific Food Inc (CNPF), one of the Philippines' leading food companies. Representatives from both institutions met last 24 June 2025 at the College of Engineering Building for an exploratory meeting aimed at creating significant opportunities for students and faculty.
The collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice, focusing on several key areas. Discussions during the meeting centered on developing programs for student internships and on-the-job training, providing engineering students with invaluable real-world experience. The partnership will also explore faculty immersion initiatives, allowing educators to gain deeper insights into industry trends and practices, which can then enrich classroom instruction.
Furthermore, the initiative looks to facilitate job placement for graduating students, offering a direct pathway to careers within a prominent company like CNPF. Beyond professional development, the partnership will also encompass social engagements, fostering a stronger connection between the university and the corporate sector.
The meeting saw the presence of the College of Engineering's administrative officials, who expressed their enthusiasm for the collaboration. Representing Century Pacific Food Inc were their dedicated representatives, led by Ms Irish Marchan, who articulated CNPF's commitment to nurturing young talent and contributing to academic excellence.
This partnership marks a significant step forward for the College of Engineering, promising to equip students with practical skills, enhance faculty expertise, and open doors to rewarding career paths. Both Xavier University and Century Pacific Food Inc. look forward to a fruitful and impactful collaboration.
