The Basic Education registrars of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan took part in the two-day orientation on the Beginning of School Year (BOSY) Learner Information System (LIS), Basic Education Information System (BEIS), and Learners Registry and Tracking System (LRTS) for private schools, held on 10 to 11 July 2025 at the Department of Education Division Office in Cagayan de Oro.

The orientation gathered school registrars and LIS coordinators from all districts under the Division of Cagayan de Oro to align school-based processes with DepEd’s updated systems for learner data encoding, tracking, and reporting. The Xavier University team is composed of Ms Kale Alphe Ramos and Ms Kylla Ladera of XUGS, Mr Anito Librando, Jr and Ms Rosemarie Rollon of XUJHS, and Ms Kizzy Jane Alonso of XUSHS.  Xavier University’s participation reflects its strong commitment to accurate and timely data management in support of national education initiatives.

The first day of the orientation focused on policy updates and system application. Highlights included a discussion on DepEd Order No 027, s 2019, detailed LIS enrollment procedures, and hands-on encoding workshops for both LIS and the Learners Registry and Tracking System. The day concluded with the sharing of best practices and a troubleshooting session to address common issues encountered by schools.

On the second day, the emphasis shifted to reporting and compliance, covering BEIS school profile updates, private school-specific documentation requirements, and User Account Management System (UAMS) processes, including End of School Year (EOSY) reporting. The session ended with an open forum, closing remarks, and distribution of certificates.

The training was spearheaded by the Technical Working Group (TWG) of the Division of Cagayan de Oro, headed by Mr Rosalio Vitorillo (Chairman) and Mr Rodel Megollas (Co-Chairman and Speaker), with support from Ms Eleanor Consejo Rollan, Ms Beverly Anne Nicolasora, Ms Amor Radaza, and Ms Jenneth Miranda, Mr Mark Edward Olango, and Jewilyn Jomoc.

By taking part in this orientation, Xavier University Basic Education reaffirms its dedication to learner-centered service and data integrity, ensuring that institutional processes remain aligned with DepEd’s evolving digital systems.
