Six Filipino French language teachers were sent, through a partnership between the Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia and the Association des Professeurs de Français aux Philippines, to participate in a training program at the Centre de Linguistique Appliquée of the Université de Franche-Comté (now known as Université Marie et Louis Pasteur) in Besançon, France. The two-week training took place from 21 July to 2 August 2025.

The Filipino participants, Mr Erwin Thaddeus Bautista and Ms Racquel Mercado from the University of the Philippines Diliman’s Department of European Languages, Ms Marjorie Sumayang and Ms Monica Althea Casas from Mandaue City Science National High School, Ms Sarah Jane Imo from Toledo Science High School, and Mr Gleford Lagcao Jr from Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan’s History and International Studies Department, underwent a training program covering a range of innovative subjects, including Artificial Intelligence, Teaching Non-Linguistic Subjects in French, Theater, French Music, French for University Objectives, Elaborating Interdisciplinary Projects, and Phonetics.

The training was designed to equip the participants with new pedagogical perspectives and immersive experiences to share with their students and colleagues, promoting deeper cultural and linguistic ties between France and the Philippines. The training also became an opportunity for the participants to network with other teachers and foreign institutions for potential projects on international student and teacher mobility.
