The Xavier University Higher Education conducted its 2025 Convocation on 24 September 2025, at the XU Little Theater. The event was organized by the Office of the Vice President of Higher Education.

The program started with the preliminaries led by Fr Ruben B Orbeta Jr SJ, University Chaplain, who delivered the invocation, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the Xavier University Hymn.

In her opening remarks, Vice President for Higher Education Dr Juliet Q Dalagan introduced the new higher education faculty, as well as those who recently earned graduate degrees. Vice President for Mission and Ministry Fr Frank Dennis Bautista Savadera SJ, DMin also presented the new higher education mission and ministry formators.

University President Fr Mars P Tan, SJ, warmly delivered the University Address, sharing his heartfelt dedication to Xavier University’s journey of growth built on steady commitment, honesty, and thoughtful purpose. He emphasized how important it is to keep high standards and quality assurance, not just to match global expectations but to honor the university’s unique spirit and create a learning environment where students feel inspired and supported to reach their full potential. Fr Mars talked about how having clear, focused strategies helps everyone understand and work toward the university’s mission and vision, making sure resources are used in the best way to help students succeed. He also stressed that true progress comes from teamwork and open, honest conversations grounded in real data, which keep the university moving forward with a shared sense of purpose and enthusiasm.

One of the highlights of the convocation was the presentation “The XU Integrated Approach to Strategy & Quality Management: Towards Unifying Purpose & Performance” by Engr Gerardo S Doroja, Director of the Strategy and Quality Management Office. His talk focused on the topic of aligning institutional strategy with performance standards to strengthen Xavier University’s academic and formative goals. He then ended the talk with the message to consider how the principles can be applied within units.

The event continued with a session on Conversations, giving faculty and formators an opportunity to engage in dialogue and reflection. The program concluded at noon with Dr Hobart P Savior serving as master of ceremonies.
