The Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan Alumni Association (XU-AAA) ushered a new era of leadership with a formal Induction and Turnover Ceremony held at Audio-Visual Room 1, Xavier University Main Campus, with the theme “Leading in Faith, Serving with Excellence.”
Ms Irene Grace Alba-Guitarte, Director of the XU Alumni Relations Office, welcomed all the administrators led by University President Fr Mars P Tan SJ, along with the Vice Presidents, Deans, School Principals, Heads of Offices, Alumni Coordinators, and distinguished guests and alumni representing various colleges and schools of Xavier University. In her opening remarks, she affirmed all those who were inducted for having such brave souls for accepting the challenge to serve their alma mater and to dream big, but always with humility and a heart of Magis and Cura Personalis.
In his valedictory address, Atty Robert W Raypon, Immediate Past President of the Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan Alumni Association (XU-AAA), expressed his deep gratitude for the collective efforts and steadfast support of the alumni community, underscoring that “there is unity in diversity.” His message served as a heartfelt reminder that Xavier Ateneans, though molded by different experiences and journeys, remain bound by a shared mission of service to God and others. In recognition of his exemplary leadership and invaluable contributions, a Certificate of Appreciation and a token of gratitude were presented to him by Fr Tan SJ and Ms Guitarte.

As the program unfolded, the ceremony reached its most anticipated part, the Induction Proper, officiated by Fr Tan. During this solemn occasion, he formally conferred the duties and responsibilities upon the newly elected officers of the Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan Alumni Association (XU-AAA). Upholding the values of unity, service, and commitment to the mission, the ceremony highlighted the Association’s unwavering pursuit of leadership with purpose and integrity.

After the induction rites, Fr Tan delivered an inspiring address highlighting the university’s major ongoing projects and forthcoming initiatives. He urged the alumni to remain steadfast in their support and active participation in Xavier University’s mission and advocacies. Emphasizing that the Atenean journey is rooted in service to God, country, and others, he reminded everyone that being an Atenean is not about prestige or recognition but about purpose and commitment — a lifelong calling to lead and serve with integrity whenever and wherever they are.
The newly inducted XU-AAA President, Mr George S Goking of the School of Business and Management, responded with a heartfelt pledge of support, affirming his commitment to fostering stronger collaboration between the university and its alumni network.
Ms Guitarte then delivered a concise presentation highlighting the Xavier University Alumni Relations Office’s key programs and initiatives, notably the Magis Rewards Card and the Magis Connect Hub. The presentation concluded with the ceremonial turnover of the Magis Iggy Bank to Fr Tan alongside Mr George Goking.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Ms Jamaica B Pueblos, XU-AAA Secretary, and the evening transitioned into a fellowship dinner, where alumni, university officials, and guests shared stories, laughter, and renewed friendships.
