On 11 November 2025, a strategic meeting was held at the Xavier University Boardroom between University President Fr Mars P Tan, SJ, and the XU Ateneo Alumni Association (XU-AAA) Board of Directors, headed by Mr George S Goking, President of the Association. The meeting aimed to explore avenues for deeper collaboration and to identify meaningful ways in which the alumni community can actively contribute to the University’s mission, goals, and long-term plans.

In attendance with Fr Tan were representatives from key university offices—the Campus of the Future, Advancement Office, Communications and Promotions Office, Finance Office, and the CISO. The discussions centered on enhancing alumni engagement and aligning joint initiatives that support the University’s development priorities.

Ms Irene Grace A Guitarte, Director of the Alumni Relations Office (ARO), presented the office’s major programs and initiatives, including the Magis Iggy Bank, Magis Reward Card, and Magis Discount Card. These programs are designed to strengthen alumni involvement, foster loyalty, and promote a sustained culture of giving and service among Xavier University graduates.

The meeting concluded on a positive and hopeful note, with both the University and the XU Ateneo Alumni Association reaffirming their shared commitment to connect, collaborate, care, and celebrate in pursuit of the continued growth and advancement of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan and its broader community.
