Xavier Ateneo formators and students, with volunteers from San Ignacio Care for the Poor (SICP),
distributed noche buena packs at the Xavier University Gym on 20 December 2025.

In the spirit of generosity this Christmas season, Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, through the Social Involvement and Advocacy Program (SIAP) and Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc (TYF), successfully conducted Christmas For Others 2025, a gift-giving initiative for 400 deserving families and communities. The activity was held on 20 December 2025 in various locations within Cagayan de Oro City.

Now in its 5th year, Xavier Ateneo and TYF continue their partnership and, in coordination with partner organizations San Ignacio Care for the Poor and El Gaucho Community Relations, have identified the following communities for this year: Sitio Punta, Brgy Bonbon; Ramonal Village, Brgy Camaman-an; Brgy 35; and the El Gaucho Community in Upper Puerto—all located in CDO. The repacking and distribution of noche buena packs were led by SIAP in close coordination with these partners.

Volunteers helped in giving the noche buena packs to the deserving families in various communities within Cagayan de Oro City.

SIAP formators and student volunteers, together with partner organizations, worked closely to ensure the smooth and meaningful delivery of the noche buena packs to the identified families. Beyond the distribution of goods, the activity also provided opportunities for conversation, shared stories, and expressions of gratitude between volunteers and residents.

Community representatives shared their appreciation for the outreach, noting that the activity brought joy and hope to many families. A resident from Brgy 35, Ms Hosana P Jamisola, expressed her gratitude for being able to receive a noche buena pack and to be able to celebrate the holidays with a positive outlook.

More than a seasonal activity, the Christmas For Others project conveys a meaningful message of hope and joy to fellow Filipinos who have less. SIAP looks forward to continuing this initiative in the coming years as the office remains committed to nurturing legacies and strengthening communities.
