XU President Mars P Tan SJ led the signing, together with Engr Robert H Cahulogan, President of RHCahulogan Corporation, Engr Wilfredo C Salmo, President of XUHS Batch ’84, and XU Basic Education Vice President Pamela Q Pajente. Fr Mars expressed his gratitude for the benefactors’ generosity, noting that the scholarships provide support for qualified Junior and Senior High School students who need financial assistance. He added that through this opportunity, the students can experience quality education and holistic formation at XU. He also commended XUHS Batch ’84 for being a prime mover in promoting the University’s presence in the community and expressed hope that other alumni groups would follow their example.

Engr Cahulogan, an XUHS Batch ’83 alumnus, shared that supporting this initiative fulfills a long-time dream, having been a recipient of the Fr Haggerty Scholarship himself. He recalled how financial aid helped him reach where he is today, saying that it is now his time to give back and, together with his family, extend the same opportunity to deserving students. Meanwhile, Engr Salmo thanked XU on behalf of his batchmates for helping facilitate the initiative and reiterated their commitment to supporting students through this effort.

Certificates of Appreciation were presented to the donors in recognition of their generosity and continued support of XU. This development brings positive news as more students are given the chance to become part of the Xavier Ateneo community.
