
Allen Arc Megreño, a fourth-year AB International Studies student from Xavier University, was part of Team 5 Whys, which qualified as a Top 10 finalist in the GCash ImaGnation Hackathon 2025. The team was selected from 960 student participants nationwide, placing them among the highest-performing teams in the competition organized by GCash.

As part of the Top 10 finalists, Team 5 Whys was invited to attend the official ImaGnation bootcamp and on-site hackathon events held at the W Global Center in Bonifacio Global City. During the program, the team received mentorship, participated in intensive innovation sessions, and presented their innovation directly to GCash representatives and industry stakeholders. The proposed solution aligned with GCash’s mission of making Filipino lives easier through accessible and practical digital solutions.

Team 5 Whys represented Xavier University alongside students from the University of the Philippines Visayas, Silliman University, and Ateneo de Manila University. Advancing to the finals highlighted XU student representation in a national, industry-led innovation platform and strengthened the university’s visibility through external competition and collaboration.
