Xavier University - School of Education recently welcomed representatives from PAG-IBIG Fund for a benchmarking visit at the Little Iggy Center, the university’s child-minding facility, on Friday, 27 February 2026. The visit formed part of PAG-IBIG Fund’s efforts to explore the possibility of establishing a similar child-minding center in their own workplace.
The delegation was composed of Gender and Development (GAD) advocates Atty Loma Linda A Say and Atty Hazel Celia I Jacutin-Galarrita along with other colleagues from PAG-IBIG Fund. During their visit, they were given a closer look at how the Little Iggy Center operates and how it provides a safe, nurturing space for children while supporting the needs of working parents and students in the university community.
Joining the visit were Dr Edralin Manla, Dean of the School of Education, Ms Michelle Joy Labitad, the lead teacher of Little Iggy Center, and Mr Ateliano Avenido Jr, representative from the Human Relations Office. The conversation and shared insights were about the center’s day-to-day practices, including the center’s guiding principles, its facilities and child-friendly environment, and the ways it fosters care, learning, and development for the children entrusted to it.

The visit also provided an opportunity for meaningful exchange, as the PAG-IBIG representatives asked questions, observed the facility, and reflected on how similar initiatives could be implemented in their own organization.
For Xavier University, the visit highlighted the growing importance of creating supportive spaces for families within institutions. Through Little Iggy Center, the university continues to demonstrate its commitment to the well-being of its community, especially working parents and their young children.
