Passion and perseverance came to the fore as XUBE’s finest fly the flag of Cagayan de Oro in the 2026 Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association Meet from 18 to 24 March 2026, in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
Guided by a commitment to excellence, growth and service, the delegation showed not only competitive spirit but also integrity, humility and a willingness to serve others, beyond themselves.
The event brought together some of the region’s top student-athletes and served as a venue for both sports’ excellence and unity among divisions.
In this meet, XUBE fielded athletes in several events, representing Cagayan de Oro with determination and a commitment to give their best in service to others and for the greater glory of God.

Representing Xavier University Basic Education, the BE crusaders carried both pride of the school and the city after earning their spots through months of training and preparation. Guided by faith and character, they competed with a purpose that went beyond winning, showing excellence on and off the field.

XUBE athletes delivered an outstanding performance across events, bringing home medals and earning their spots for the prestigious Palarong Pambansa.
In archery, Moira Julianne Cadaves won bronze in the high school girls’ team event. In badminton, Gianna Nicolette De Galicia won gold in the grade school singles event, while Jhullie Ann Layno took silver. Both qualified for the Palarong Pambansa. In football, Tim Jason Rehfeld and the Rosevale Team won the grade school title and also advanced to the Palarong Pambansa.
In swimming, Raelene Cerise Casiño won silver in the 200-meter backstroke and bronze in the 400-meter event. Vince Chevi Lacar added two bronze medals in the 4x500 freestyle relay and 4x100 freestyle relay and placed fourth in the 4x50 medley relay. Jeline Castrence placed fourth in the 50-meter backstroke and the 4x50 medley relay, along with Patrowe Trishfel Yamba, who also finished fourth in the same relay.
In grade school volleyball, Juliet Chelsie Pelaez, Myka Patricia Siojo and Marianna Francesca Cadiz, playing with the Bulua Team, won silver. Cadiz is also set to join the national champion team. In high school volleyball, Liancel Marie Valencia and Jesaiah Britt Mansueto, with the Kong Hua Team, also earned silver.
These achievements reflect not only the athletes’ talent but also their hard work, teamwork and dedication.
Their success in NMRAA 2026 inspires the XUBE community and shows the kind of athletes the school continues to form. As several of them advance to the Palarong Pambansa, they carry with them the pride of Cagayan de Oro City and the support of their school and community.
The XUBE community celebrates these athletes not only as champions in competition, but also as men and women of character.
