This partnership is a cornerstone of XU-SOE’s advocacy for inclusive education. By immersing pre-service teachers in a specialized environment, Xavier University School of Education aims to mold educators who are both academically proficient and deeply empathetic.

Bright Light Learning Academy stands as a premier partner in this mission. Recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd), BLLA holds a prestigious position as the first private Inclusive Learning Resource Center (ILRC) in Region X and one of only two such recognized private institutions in the entire country. Through this MOA, XU-SOE pre-service teachers gain exclusive access to a facility that serves as a national model for inclusive practices.

Anchored in National Mandates

The collaboration is strictly aligned with two critical national policies:

  1. Joint CHED-DepEd Memorandum Order No 1: This ensures that the deployment of pre-service teachers for Field Study and Teaching Internships meets the highest regulatory standards for teacher education.
  2. Republic Act No 11650: Also known as the "Instituting a Policy of Inclusion and Services for Learners with Disabilities Act," this partnership fulfills the law’s mandate to provide specialized support and competent instructional staff for all learners.

The experiential learning courses are designed to bridge the gap between university lectures and real-world classroom dynamics. Under the mentorship of BLLA’s seasoned professionals, the pre-service teachers will develop critical competencies in adaptive instructional planning, behavioral intervention strategies, and inclusive classroom management.

"This partnership ensures that XU-SOE graduates are uniquely prepared to excel in both local and international educational landscapes, meeting global standards for inclusive teaching."

The MOA underscores a shared commitment to social responsibility and educational innovation. By investing in the high-quality training of future educators, Xavier University and Bright Light Learning Academy are actively building a more accessible and equitable future for all.
