Xavier University’s Masterson Campus in Upper Carmen is featuring new and modern infrastructure, including the installation of 34.5 kV Underground Electrical Utilities — the first of its kind in Cagayan de Oro City. This major electrical engineering application places high-voltage distribution lines underground instead of using traditional overhead power lines. Work on this modern underground utility, which began in January of this year, is done in collaboration with Cebu Landmasters, Inc, CEPALCO (Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company), and A.N. Escalante Construction, Inc.

Marks a significant step toward building a safer, more reliable, and future-ready learning environment providing:

✅ Enhanced Aesthetics – No visible power lines, allowing architectural designs to stand out cleanly and beautifully.

✅ Improved Reliability – Underground systems are less vulnerable to storms, strong winds, and falling debris.

✅ Safety & Durability – Reduced risks of electrical hazards and line damage.

✅ Long-Term Practicality – Although costly to install, underground systems require less maintenance and provide long-term efficiency.

✅ Modern Campus Standard – Aligns Xavier University with global best practices in sustainable and forward-thinking campus infrastructure.
