XU College of Engineering conducted a benchmarking visit to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) last 8 May 2026 to further strengthen its initiatives in academic excellence, innovation, and international collaboration.

The delegation engaged in meaningful discussions with faculty and academic representatives, focusing on interdisciplinary education, smart technologies, innovation ecosystems, and

future-ready learning environments. Participants were also given the opportunity to tour advanced laboratories and immersive research facilities, gaining valuable insights into HKUST’s approach to integrating technology, research, and industry collaboration in higher education.

The benchmarking activity reflects insights drawn from the broader excellence of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, a globally recognized institution consistently ranked among the world’s leading universities, including within the Top 50 of the QS World University Rankings. This underscores the value of the exchange and learning from internationally benchmarked academic systems.

The visit reaffirms XU COE’s commitment to strengthening its programs through global best practices and expanding opportunities for future academic and research collaborations.
