Organized to bolster the existing service learning programs (SLP) of universities in Asia, the Conference for Asian Faculty and International Student Learning was held on June 29-July 1 at the Central Philippine University, Panay Island, IloIlo. Representatives from various schools and universities in the country attended the event to highlight their respective service learning programs.

Present in the event to represent the university was Engr. Dexter Lo of XU Engineering Resource Center (XU ERC) who showcased the integral role of SLP in the rehabilitation of Sendong victims in XU Ecoville - the permanent shelter for Sendong survivors.

Also at the conference was Fr. Bienvenido Nebres, former president of the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), who highlighted ADMU's mobilization to respond to previous disasters like Ondoy, Sendong, and Yolanda, and the role of the university’s student population during those relief efforts.
