Xavier University's Kristohanong Katilingban sa Pagpakabana-Social Involvement Office (KKP-SIO) with the Central Student Government (CSG) of the university held a prayer rally for farmers on June 25, 2014 following a successful forum on CARP entitled, "“Hisgut-hisgut Uban sa mga Mag-uuma”.

Starting inside the university and around Divisoria area, the march showed to be an act of support for and solidarity with the farmers who hope of owning the land they tilled for a long time. Prior to the prayer rally, a national situationer was given by Engr. Ermin Stan Pimentel who stressed the need to fight and engage with the farmers.

The Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) ended last June 30, 2014 yet many lands are still left undistributed to the farmers who tilled it.

The plight of the farmers is among the focus of one of the university’s Research and Social Outreach (RSO) five thematic areas, food security.
