Last July 2, Xavier University received inquiries regarding some cases of high school students manifesting signs and symptoms of non-specific viral infection such as fever, headache, non-petechiael rashes, cough and colds.

We have been in touch with our medical personnel in the Pueblo Campus who have been gathering data on the students admitted to the XUHS clinic and are set to run some tests to investigate the cases. We are also collaborating with the Cagayan de Oro City Health Department and the Department of Health (DOH). We continue to cooperate with the City Health Office to arrive at conclusive findings and recommendation.

In the meantime, we request the parents of our high school students to seek medical advice should their children exhibit any of the above symptoms. Xavier University is taking appropriate steps to ensure the health of our students, faculty and staff.
