An Accountancy graduate of Xavier University ranked 5th place among the passers in the July 2014 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Examination.

Joscel Barrio de los Cielos garnered a percentage rating of 91.57 according to the roll of successful takers released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on August 1, Friday.

Out of the 5, 540 takers, only 1,107 passed the examination conducted simultaneously by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi on the last week of July.

The registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be on Aug 8, 11 and 12, 2014.

Successful examinees must personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the CPA board passers will be announced later.

For three consecutive CPA exams now, XU graduates were able to make it to the top 10. In the May 2013 exam, Glen Dareen Santos ranked 8th, Ryan James Aban placed 5th in October 2013 and recently, de los Cielos landed in the 5th spot.
