Xavier University through its Xavier Center for Culture and the Arts (XCCA), in collaboration with XU’s Department of English Language and Literature will hold “Yamug 7 – A Prelude to the Folk Literature Conference in 2015” on October 25, 2014, 8AM to 12NN at the XU Little Theater.

Yamug is a project under the cultural education program of XCCA and in line with celebration of the National Indigenous People’s Month.  

This year’s Yamug focuses on folk literature of Bukidnon and a brief lecture on culture and the arts awareness.

Topics and speakers include “Primer of the Folk Literature Conference 2015” by Roger F Garcia of XU, “Amulets, Rituals and Myths: Metaphors of Creation and Survival of a Race” by Dr Estrella Alfabeto of Central Mindanao University (CMU) and “Culture and Arts Awareness and Ethics on Borrowing Cultural Materials” by XCCA director Hobart P Savior.

In line with this, XCCA invites the entire XU community to attend Yamug 7. Admission is free.
