USAID invites Filipino graduates, faculty members and researchers from Philippine academic institutions, and members of the business community to join one of the nine information sessions of Science, Technology, Research and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) Program.

USAID STRIDE has a competitive grants and scholarships program aimed at building the country's pool of scientists and technopreneurs who will help drive innovation-led inclusive growth.

The information roadshow will transpire in nine sites, namely, in the cities of Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Tacloban, Tagbilaran, Puerto Princesa, San Fernando in La Union, Batangas and Manila, from October 14 to November 13.

Each of the session will introduce the various grants and scholarships opportunities being offered by the STRIDE Program and its goals, criteria, requirements, and application and selection processes.

The 2014-2015 call for applications for the STRIDE Grants and Scholarships in Science and Technology will official open on October 16, 2014.

The following are the grants under the STRIDE Program:

1. Collaborative Applied Research with Industry (CARWIN) Grants are open to Philippine academic institutions with the capacity to conduct collaborative research with identified industry partners.

2. Philippine-U.S. Research and Exchange (PURE) Grants are open to Philippine academic institutions with the capacity to conduct joint research with a U.S. university of their choice.
    
3. Professional Science Master's (PSM) Scholarships offer either degree or non-degree PSM study program in a U.S. university of their choice.

4. PhD Research Scholarships gives Filipino doctoral candidates and PhD degree holders the opportunity to conduct science and technology research under the supervision of a U.S. university professor.

Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Each session will run from 8AM to 12NN.
