Xavier University – Computer Studies teams won in different events during the 12th Iligan City Computing Fair (ICCF) held at the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) on September 15-17.

A total of 24 teams from various schools across Mindanao competed in four events namely, Computer Hardware Servicing Competition, Digital Arts Open Competition, Open Programming Competition and College Quiz Show.

Karen Kate Gepanaga, a 4th year BSCS student and Glenn Henley Samporna (BSCS3) of Team Wizards Beta were hailed as champions in the College Quiz Show competition with 120 points.

In addition, Merari Joy Cebrian (BSCS4) and Angelo Karlo Tan (BSCS2) ranked 4th with 75 points in the same category.
In the Open Programming Competition, Zamina C Sabenecio (BSCS4) and Ruel Angelo Aballe(BSCS4) landed on the 1st runner-up spot. The selection of the winners in this category was based on the most number of problems solved in a given period of time.

ICCF is the first-of- its-kind regional computing fair in Mindanao established in 2002 and now on its 12th season following the theme: “Next Level. Power Up!”
