The Xavier University community celebrated the birthday of the Blessed Mother through a Marian concert held on September 8 at the University Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Impressive performances were delivered by different music groups serving the University Church such as the Xavier University-United Religious Organizations (XU-URO), University Glee Club, Xavier Philharmonia, and Friends and Music group. The Lumad High School Scholars of Upper Pulangi also presented during the concert.

As these groups sang their hearts out, they were able to entertain the audience who came to watch the performances. They also heard awe-inspiring stories of encounters with Mary from some campus ministers who have spoken about how Mary had become part of their lives. It was Mary’s humility and faith that inspired one of those who shared to the audience her encounter.

The music and the stories are indeed expressions of the heart’s gratitude to Mary who had been an instrument of God's love and mercy. May we also find in our hearts the joy of serving God in humility and
fidelity.

The Chaplaincy office organized the said celebration and the proceeds of the concert will go the Upper Pulangi scholars.

Happy birthday, Mama Mary!
