Xavier University – Governance and Leadership Institute (XU-GLI) has teamed up with De La Salle University’s Jesse M Robredo Institute of Governance for a national study on human resources and organizational development for local competitiveness.

This research, supported by the Philippine Australian Human Resource Development and Organization Facility (PAHRODF) of the Australian Aid, has selected the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iloilo as study areas.

XU-GLI facilitated the key informant interview on February 18 with CDO officials led by Mayor Oscar Moreno and the focus group discussion with different stakeholders on Feb 19.

The final output of the study will be presented during the national conference of human resource officers of the public sector, to be organized by the Civil Service Commission (CSC). The highlights will be on the success indicators on local competitiveness which will serve as guides for local government units.

XU-GLI director Dr Dixon Q Yasay is among the national lecturers of the Local Economic Development Program (LEDP) spearheaded by the Local Government Academy (LGA) of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
