Xavier University was hailed one of the top 5 teacher education schools in the Philippines with 90% overall passing rate in Category A (1000+ takers) in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) from 2009 to 2014.

The Philippine Business for Education (PBEd) released on February 9 a list of the top and worst performing teacher education institutions (TEIs).

Out of the 1,166 takers from XU, 1,052 passed the board exam for teachers (579 and 473 passed in elementary and secondary LET exams, respectively) summed from all LET exam results over the last six years.  

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) administers the LET exams twice a year, in the first and third quarters.

In the Philippines, 1,025 TEIs offer an elementary education program while 1,259 schools have a secondary education course, according to PBEd.
