The workshop was aimed at reflecting on the campaign experiences of veteran politicians, analysing principles and new trends of campaign management, and planning for effective campaign strategies.

The workshop involved sessions on the science and arts of political campaigning, political habits, sharing of a winning congressman and mayor, crafting of campaign message, forming the campaign team, grassroots organizing, understanding the roles of social media, and making a campaign plan.

Participants of the workshop were politicians and campaign teams of local government units of Kalilangan, Kibawe, and Quezon of Bukidnon; Kauswagan, Linamon, and Maigo of Lanao del Norte; Buenavista of Agusan del Norte; Prosperidad of Agusan del Sur; Rizal of Zamboanga del Norte; Balingoan and Sugbongcogon of Misamis Oriental.

“XU is professionalizing campaign management.  This is also part of the social outreach theme on governance of Xavier,” said XU-GLI director Dr Dixon Yasay.

XU-GLI continues to engage at improving local governance as part of Xavier University’s social outreach agenda.
