The installation of the 100-kilowatt Solar Photovoltaic Facility for the XU Senior High School Building is now 99.06% complete. Major activities completed include the installation of mounting structures, solar panels, and cabling. The remaining activities, including inspection, are currently being finalized prior to commissioning, testing, and turnover to the client.

The Solar Photovoltaic Facility Project formally commenced on 08 April 2026 through a kick-off meeting held at the XU Pueblo Campus. Present during the event were key partners Mr Henry B Howard, CEO and President of the US Mindanao Renewable Energy Corporation (USMREC), and Mr Cecilio U Sumaoy, COO and President of Minergy Philippines. Also present were Mr Andrew P Donggay and Engr Cerael C Donggay, CEO and President of Greenergy Development Corporation, respectively.

Greenergy serves as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor and has since undertaken the necessary project works. Also present during the ceremonial event were Greenergy officials, including Project Engineer Reymart Kabingue, who oversees the solar panel installation, and Engr Nelson Lagutin, who supervises the retrofitting works at the XU Junior High School Covered Court. Representatives from Minergy, including Engr Reynald P Auxilio and Atty Gretel M Salley-Obial, as well as university administrators and officials from Basic Education also attended the program, led by VP for Administration Engr George M Abasolo and VP for Basic Education Pamela Q Pajente, PhD.

On 14 May 2026, Xavier University and Greenergy Development Corporation entered into a separate agreement for the retrofitting of the XU Junior High School Covered Court, fully funded through a donation from Mr Henry B Howard of USMREC. The agreement was signed by Fr Mars P Tan, SJ on behalf of Xavier University and Mr Andrew P Donggay on behalf of Greenergy. The signing was witnessed by Mr Rolando J Linaac of USMREC and Engr George M Abasolo of XU.
