Kikay is back!

The Xavier Stage brings Kikay back on stage as she rediscovers her childhood memories with friends Tony, Totoy and Nena in “New Yorker sa Burgos – Isang Slapstick” on June 17 at XU Little Theater.

“New Yorker sa Burgos” is an adaptation of Marcelino Agana Jr’s “New Yorker in Tondo,” a comedy of manners.  

In 2011, this comedy was deconstructed and updated to contemporary times. The Xavier Stage chose Barangay Burgos as the locale. At that time “New Yorker sa Burgos” served as the company’s recital piece for its workshop participants.  It turned out to be a huge success, garnering remarkable audience response while successfully conveying messages on cultural assimilation, culture change and culture shock.

This year’s re-staging features the batch 6 actors of the company, namely Keisha Bagares, Simon Pierre Salera, Ryan Nico Ilogon, Maggie Candia and Maria Veronica Large.

“New Yorker sa Burgos” shows are at 10AM, 1:30PM and 7:30PM at XULT. Admission is free!
